What If? Wednesday - Designer Choice Challenge

Hello my crafty friends - How is your week coming along?  Hopefully you said terrific...if not then here is a great challenge that is sure to get your creative juices sprouting.

The What If? Wednesday Designer Choice Challenge from Geri is to create a card with Spring Flowers!
I totally embraced this challenge because I really am ready to start seeing some REAL flowers spout up in my yard.

I even made two cards for this challenge,
here is the first card:

This card measures 5x7 and I used the stamp from Repeat Impressions is called "My Sunshine" (8402-M)
I used only the flower part of the stamp and then tied some bakers twine into some buttons for the centers.

Here is the other card I made for this challenge using the same stamp actually - the whole stamp this time though.

This card is a standard A2 card
I used my Copics to color in the image

I really hope you join in on the challenge with us over at the Repeat Impressions Blog.  You will be entered in to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate for some FANTASTIC items.

Thank you for coming by today.  Please take care and craft your heart out.
See you soon!

LQQKIE HERE...

Hey there everyone!  It's a wee bit late here now and of course, I can't get to sleep - but what's new?  I'll show you what I recently got that's new...two craft hauls and guess what else?! All this added together added up to roughly $40!!! What!!!

Yeppers - You gotta love coupons!

I've been making some Birthday Cards lately and since I need so many for friends and family, not to mention birthdays that I send out for BRAK (Birthday Random Acts of Kindness); I have been doing a sort of assembly line with a few designs that I came up with and some pre-made sketches.

I made close to 20 of these cards the other day.  I only have to attach the sentiment on those. These two pictured here are completed.  I'll be using the cupcakes and some will have have bears & other images instead of the cupcake.
My goal here is to create a mass amount of cards that are not all alike but yet easy to create in a shorter amount of time.  This design here was very quick.  I think the only thing about this design that takes time is the actual picking and choosing of which papers and stamps to use.

Eric and Kevin went to the Sharonville Convention Center this past weekend to check out the HorrorHound Convention.

The two of them are into the show The Walking Dead which had these 6 cast members at the convention.  Not to mention John Carpenter, Robert Patrick (Terminator 2, X-Files), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill), Tony Todd (Candyman, Final Destination), Sid Hag (House of 1000 Corpses, Devils Rejects), Bill Moseley (House of 1000 Corpses, Devils Rejects) and just so many many more creative actors.

I found this picture of Bill Moseley that was taken this past weekend - which btw is the one person that if I went, I wanted to meet.
This is him all cleaned up

Now here he is in House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects - same character in both movies which were also films created by and directed by Rob Zombie.

Devils Rejects
House of 1000 Corpses

Well, maybe next year I'll get to go.  By the way this is what Eric and Kevin actually did see when they got there

I really did feel bad for Kevin especially because he really was looking forward to this for weeks.  He had the day off just so he and Eric could go, but then his work called him in to work anyway.  So they had to take their chances and try to get in after Kevin got off.  Not to mention it was snowing horribly all afternoon.

Well, this is all I have for now, I need to go create and cut paper and stamp some stuff...I have that creative bug itch now and I must go scratch it, hehehe.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful and creativity fill day. Be sure to come back tomorrow for another What If? Wednesday from Repeat Impressions - You will love it!

SOTW from Repeat Impressions "Pussy Willows"

Good morning everyone!  Did you get covered with snow over the night like we did here in Cincinnati?  I'm ready for some sun now as I am sure a lot of you are too.  But I don't just want a peek, I want it to stay!

It's Stamp of the Week here again from Repeat Impressions!  The stamp that we are hosting this week is called
Pussy Willows (4306-N)
Isn't this the best stamp ever!  I mean really, look how cute and funny it is with the kitties sprouting out - lol.

For this card I decided to create a fun card to go with the fun stamp.  I wanted to use a lot of different papers and styles,

The card measures 5x7
The paper used is - Lucky Charm from American Crafts; the stripes, the triangles and the words are from that collection.  Echo Park the Photo Freedom collection is the polka dotted paper.
I stamped the Pussy Willows (4306-N) with black Memento Ink onto yellow card stock that I then ripped and used some kraft paper to border it which is also ripped.
The accents on the top right corner are from Little Yellow Bicycle and the sticker is from Echo Park Photo Freedom collection pack.

This stamp will be available from March 25 - 30 for 50% off the original price.  When ordering use code SOTW325 .  Simply click here to get to the Repeat Impressions blog, click on their link to purchase this cute and funny stamp - please limit one per order thank you.

What If? Wednesday - Designer's Choice Challenge

Happy Wednesday!
Hope your week so far has been pleasant and full of sunshine!  Enough of cold weather and snow...send in the sun...

Today we have a great Designer Choice Challenge for you brought to you by Karen.  She has challenged us to create a card using brayering or sponging.  This was a really good challenge for me since I rarely do these two techniques.  I chose to incorporate sponging in my card.
I used this stamp called "Feline Friendly" (1602-P) from Repeat Impressions and masked over it and began to sponge on and around it yellow ink, then blended into the yellow was a lighter orange ink, then blue, then pink.

The sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions and is called "Knowing You..." (1214-G)

I had a small heart charm to place in the center for some added dimension and depth.  The sentiment is placed on foam tape.

For some more inspiration please check out my fellow Rock Stars...

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you found some inspiration to create something amazing today!
Until next time!

Repeat Impressions - Stamp of the Week!!!

Good morning my crafty friends!  I hope that you had a most excellent weekend!
It was such a great one here in Cincinnati weather wise.  It was sunny and reached 70 degrees - can you believe it!  When just earlier in the week here we had 4-5 inches of snow.
Eric and I went to see Oz The Great and Powerful.  Now I am one who can practically quote you the Wizard of Oz without missing a beat, so I just HAD to see this.  We were not disappointed at all.  It was a GREAT movie!

Now on to the Stamp of the Week!!!
Since we are coming ever so close to Easter this stamp is perfect!

How cute is that!

I wanted to do a few different things with this one card wise, but ended up creating this...

Now you cannot tell that I embossed the light green card stock but it is.  Layered on top of that is a piece of patterned paper from the Neapolitan collection, on top of that is another piece from the same collection. I used my Sizzix Big Shot and Nestabilities Oval Scallops to create the two middle pieces; one is My Minds Eye and the other Neenah.
I used my Copics to color the Easter Balloons stamp and then added a little pink bow.
I also used my Sepia pen to add some glitter to the stripes and circles in the balloons.

This stamp is available to Repeat Impressions blog readers for 50% off this week only!  March 11th to the 17th.  (limit one please)

For some more inspiration check out my fellow Rock Stars blogs:

I want to thank you for stopping by.  Please have a great day and I hope that you are inspired today by something beautiful!!!
