Christmas Cards Using Copic Markers & Glaze

Hello and welcome!
Here we are on the eve of Christmas Eve...I still have things to wrap. Are you all ready?  My mom and kiddo's are coming over tomorrow night and we will celebrate together.  I am really looking forward to that!  Then on Christmas Day Eric and I will go over to his uncles and we will spend time there with his family.  I am off work for the next two days so I am really looking forward to that.

I made some cards for my co-workers.  I wanted to share these with you.

You cannot see it really well in the picture but there is Glaze on the red part of the candy cane.  I used Copics to color and a Spica Glitter pen for the box to add a little shimmer

I did more to this card before I gave it to my manager.  I just didn't get a photo of it after the fact.  This was all colored with Copics and a Spica Glitter pen was used to give the picture a snow glistening effect.

The candy cane is glazed and the Spica Glitter pen was used under this little guys feet and the ball on his hat. Used Copics to color

The Season's Greetings is heat embossed, Copics used to color this

Until we meet again!
Merry Christmas and Happy Crafting!!!

Greeting Card Reminder Binder

Do you know how many cards you will need in the new year? Do you know who has a birthday in March and what "off-beat" fun holidays are in June? Have you ever wondered if you sent out a card or forgot to because your life was so hectic at the time and you couldn't remember?

I have wanted for a long time a book or something to keep all this information in and so I finally made something to organize all these ideas.

I took a Recollections small binder that I had a junk journal in and transformed it into this simple little but hugely beneficial Schedule for Card Making.

I added some stickers to the front and the pink you see here is an elastic band to keep book shut.

This is the inside front cover. the pocket came with the binder.

This is another pocket and in here I will keep the actual records of who I sent what to and when it was sent out.

I used some stickers that had the months on them and to secure them better used a small piece of clear packaging tape to surround the month sticker. (I was painting hence the paint on my nail, lol)

You may have seen my birthday reminder calendars in a previous post but what I did was take the calendar portion and put it on it's own page

When I turn the page for each month I have a generic monthly calendar folded in half that I can easily flip open to see all the major holidays.

Behind the major holidays are the "Off-beat" holidays as well as Monthly celebrations and observances. This is also a folded paper

This is the record of who I have sent to and what off-beat holidays I have chosen to focus on and some different monthly observances. The highlighted parts are the holidays

This here is a spreadsheet that you can write 20 different peoples name on the top going across and on the left side going down write holidays then when you send out to them you can put a check mark.

Some of these lap over onto one another but I really find it useful and to me it helps to see it in a couple different ways.

I hope this might help someone who is looking for a way to do the same thing.

Take care...

Christmas 2013 - Cards and Home Decor

Where do I start off at when I haven't been here for over 6 months!?  I have been slammed at work is where I have been, dealing with some not-so-fun emotional junk and now feeling better again with everything!

Eric and I are still living in our town home and going strong!  My kids are growing up still so fast.  Kristin is living on her own, Kevin just Friday got a new car.  So all is well with family this season.

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your winter season holiday(s). Now the first thing I want to show you is my wreath snowman door-hanger.  I saw it first on pinterest and fell in love with it, soooo

TA DA!!!

Our Wreath Snowman Door Decor
The front of our home with some of the lights on in front, 2 candles in top windows, snowman wreath & in our bay window you can see our tree

I have also been creating a few cards here and there.  These three are just a small few of what I have done.  I know the first two are similar but I really love this stamp.
Meowy Christmas
Tabby Kitty Christmas

Cany Cane Wishes

I have also been making some Birthday cards for SCS (SplitCoastStampers) b/c I am on their B.R.A.K committee.  Here are a few:

I also made another Scripture 8x8 page.  I really am happy how it came out.

I will be back later on in the day with another post with some "How-to's" for some of these and more.

I have really missed being here and I hope you will welcome me back into the blogging community because I cannot wait to start reading your blog posts again!

Designer's Choice Challenge - CAS CARD!!!

Good morning everyone!  Welcome to another What If? Wednesday from Repeat Impressions.
Today I got to choose the challenge for the group....
The Designer's Choice Challenge for this week is to
CREATE A CAS CARD...
This was truly a challenge for me because I rarely make CAS cards.
If you are unsure what a CAS card is; it means to create a Clean And Simple card.  Nothing elaborate or over the top with a lot of embellishments.
Here is the card I created for this challenge:
The card is a standard A2 size card
I used two stamps from Repeat Impressions, Thanks for the lift (9105-G) and Hot Air Balloon Cluster (9116-N)
Copics used to color the balloons and the sky background are: BG49, BG18, BG13, BG34, RV19, YR38, R35, B000 and B00

I hope you head on over to Repeat Impressions Blog and get more inspiration from my fellow Rock Star's.

Take care everyone and try to see beauty in all you do today!  See you soon!

Happy Happy Birthday

Hello all my blogging and crafty friends!  Can you believe it is the first day in April?  Did you survive April Fool's day or did you get tricked?  Or perhaps you played some April Fool's pranks yourself.  It was the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day today; which in Cincinnati here is reason enough to take the day off work.  I honestly think that Cincinnati should just declare it a city holiday.  Unfortunately the Reds lost to the Angels 3-1.

Onward to the cards I say!

I am still on a mission to create a bunch of Birthday cards.  I made three more the other day with some new paper I bought from a local scrapbook store.  These three cards are all similar and are created from the same sketch.

I absolutely fell in love with this paper collection from Three Bugs In A Rug called Bake Me A Cake.  I also used some Bella BLVD Birthday Girl papers.  Very cute I think!

This is a very short post because I need to get back to work a.k.a. creating more cards!  Be sure to stop in Wednesday for another Repeat Impressions What If? Wednesday Sketch Challenge!
Thank you so much for stopping by & I'll see you soon...

What If? Wednesday - Designer Choice Challenge

Hello my crafty friends - How is your week coming along?  Hopefully you said terrific...if not then here is a great challenge that is sure to get your creative juices sprouting.

The What If? Wednesday Designer Choice Challenge from Geri is to create a card with Spring Flowers!
I totally embraced this challenge because I really am ready to start seeing some REAL flowers spout up in my yard.

I even made two cards for this challenge,
here is the first card:

This card measures 5x7 and I used the stamp from Repeat Impressions is called "My Sunshine" (8402-M)
I used only the flower part of the stamp and then tied some bakers twine into some buttons for the centers.

Here is the other card I made for this challenge using the same stamp actually - the whole stamp this time though.

This card is a standard A2 card
I used my Copics to color in the image

I really hope you join in on the challenge with us over at the Repeat Impressions Blog.  You will be entered in to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate for some FANTASTIC items.

Thank you for coming by today.  Please take care and craft your heart out.
See you soon!
