Me and my shadow ~ the kitties!!!

Today was going to be just a lazy day for me, or that is what I would have liked it
to have been.  However, I had an early appointment in the morning and it just went from there. {That was actually yesterday the 14th...it's now 3:30 am on the 15th so I have been up for a long time.}

After my appointment I decided to get started with the numerous things I needed to get completed by certain deadlines.  I am involved in more than just the PBS_Swappers Group, I belong to several groups out there and it seems that I have signed up for everything that
seems to be going on in all of them, lol!  Well, I am so far getting what I need done for all
of them thus far, and I don't plan on getting behind with any of them.  I know how
important deadlines are and people counting on you to come through with what
you promised to do.  Yesterday I started and finished up a bunch of birthday cards, as well as took care of some things for the PBS_Swappers. Then I worked on a layout for  a "friendship page" swap.   So I think I accomplished a lot yesterday (to you all ~ same day to me lol).

I don't know if I have ever mentioned on here about the 4 kitties I have.  There were just 3 for the longest time, and then last October I got my "Shadow Angel", Jiggabear. She was a stray kitty and my kiddos called me in a bad spot having found her on a rainy & cold day in October.  So I took her in and she's just a blessing to me.  She follows me everywhere I go, hence my shadow angel.

Then there is Bandit who is the only male in this 4 Kittie bunch, he's such a scaredy cat that whenever Kristin is over Bandit will not come out for whatever reason.  Kristin is a huge cat lover, so she's not mean to him or anything, Bandit's just weird, LoL!

Then there is Boogers, I didn't name her however the name fits perfectly for her. She is sort of a carmel colored mixed patchy designed kitty. Here she is doing her best Super Kitty pose...

Last but CERTAINLY not least, there is my Spookerbear.  She is my baby and I just LOVE her to pieces.  She is Boogers mommy and is the oldest of the 4 here.  I call her "Big Momma" sometimes because the way she carries herself is with such EGO and I'M THE BOSS type of way.  Poor Bandit gets his butt kicked by her all the time.  Especially when Spookers has just recently been scolded for whatever, she immediately goes off on a cat and unfortunately Bandit seems to be the one closest.  However, with that being said, Spookerbear has a sense of when something is wrong or your not feeling well, I have
been sick a lot and every time she is right there laying next to me and cuddling with me. She does this also when your sad or crying and just down.
She's the only one of the 4 who will actually lay on top of me, lol.  Which let's face it,
that's ADORABLE!!!  She's actually sitting here right now on my desk as I type this
just watching me type and the occasional headbutt of affection to me from her.
Here she is sticking her kitty tongue out at me.

This picture here is Spookerbear and her own kitty that she will take and play with
and carry in her mouth and cry EVERY NIGHT after she eats.  It can be cute but sometimes she get sooooo loud!  But I am use to it.

This is before Jiggabear came into my life, above is Spookers, Boogers, and Bandit snuggled on my bed all together, I just HAD to take a picture.
And below is also pre-Jiggabear, this is also in my room on a window seat for the kitties.
And I found something out one day about Spookers and Bandit...
THEY DO GET ALONG {sometimes}.
So there you have it, my Kittie collection, LoL! I love them all so much, they keep me company and sane.

Charity From The Heart...Would You Like To Be Involved? I Hope So!

Hi everyone,

I am writing today to tell you about two charities that I belong to.  I am responsible for the charity portion of the Yahoo! group PBS_Swappers and while we mainly discuss crafting and have challenges and swaps, we also wanted to do more in the way of charity work.

The first charity I would like to tell you about is Operation Write Home {OWH}.  OWH is a non-profit organization that helps our men and women in uniform serving around the world.  What they do is send the troops handmade greeting cards which are blank on the inside so that the soldiers can in turn write their own personal messages to their families and loved ones back home.  What we at PBS_Swappers are doing is helping to supply some of these handmade greetings.  While having our group do this is wonderful, I thought I would extend the invitation to you all and ask if you would be interested and willing to get involved with helping OWH out as well.  I am going to give you a link as to what is acceptable and what is not acceptable in the handmade greetings sent to our troops.  Mainly it is all about NOT USING GLITTER.  What I am currently doing is mailing out quarterly to my contact Dixie in North Carolina.  The next time I will mail out will be towards the end of September. So this gives us all plenty of time to get those cards in.  Christmas cards will be needed in vast amounts as the holiday season approaches us.  Dixie also informed me that while Birthday cards, Thinking of You cards, and other general greetings are important and needed, what she is lacking is cards for the men in the lives of our soldiers: husbands, fathers, brothers, etc..  Also she stated that there is a need for cards for the children in their lives as well.

Another charity we are involved in is called Amy's Angels.  This group sends out handmade greetings to those who suffer with cancer as well as to their care-givers.  Again, we at PBS_Swappers are helping out by sending handmade greetings.  These cards are also to remain blank inside as they are requested by others and those at Amy's Angels fill them in per each request.  However a sentiment such as "Thinking of You", "Get Well", or something appropriate like that can be placed on the front of the card; or you can leave off a sentiment and just create a beautiful card front.  Also my contact their stated she would like to have our "Hallmark" signature on the back of the cards, such as "designed by", or "created by"...you know what I mean.

I have been up all night {yes again} looking into some other charities as well.  I am currently awaiting their response to let me know if and how we can help out.  I will share this information with you all as soon as I know anything.

If you are at all interested in sending a card(s) to help out these charities, please contact me via email  and I will give you my mailing address so you can send them onto me.  Anything and everything helps out those in need.  The three charities that I contacted this evening {or rather in the middle of the night}, all are dealing with children who are either ill, homeless, or just need a friendly card every now and then due to one reason or another.  I do hope that when I get information from them, that you will be interested in helping out those as well.

The PBS_Swappers and myself are not receiving anything in return for our assistance to these groups, I want to make that clear to you all.  If we are receiving anything at all, it is knowing that we are making a difference to someone else in a non-selfish way.  Perhaps that in itself is selfish, but I know from personal experience that helping someone else, whether in person or anonymously it feels great!  I want you to have this same great feeling!

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the group PBS_Swappers on Yahoo.  We are a fun, creative, and most importantly, a caring group of women who are based here in the United States.  We would love to have you join us.  The founder of the group is Sherry and you will find she is a very talented and a great friend to have.  So please come and take a look around and join us.

So again, please won't you consider helping out in this journey we have ventured on to brighten the day of someone who is in a less fortunate place than us right now.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and from all those who will benefit from your kindness.

Decided On Theme For My First ATC's

I was looking all over the Internet at ideas and themes for ATC's, and there ARE MANY!  I thought I would like to do something sort of easy since this is my first attempt at making ATC's.  Colors!  Of course, why hadn't I thought of that a couple weeks ago?!
So I had color in my head but how was I going to incorporate that it into a real theme. Well, I was looking around for something to store my the blank ATC cards I have and when I came to this little metal box I've had for years, I knew I had found a theme because inside was a color chart for Chakras!
~My Little Stars & Moon Tin~
~The Colour Energy Chart I Found Inside~

Google images was a lifesaver for this project in the works, because I came across the symbols for each color!  How perfect!
~My Work In Progress Red Chakra #1~
~My Work In Progress Red Chakra #2~

What I am doing to create at least the red chakra is taking vellum and my handy light box  to trace the symbol onto the vellum, then I used red Stickles to fill in the areas needed.  The vellum will then be cut out and placed on the card as will the rest of what I decide to do with it, when I have completed it to my liking.
I am hardly anywhere near finished with this ATC obviously but I will post my progress as I continue with this project.

Thank you for taking a look today, more to follow soon.
