Dazzles - Perfect Pearls - Embossing OH MY!

Good morning everyone...well, we are at Thursday which means only one more day until a three day weekend.  Do you have anything special planned?  Any last minute grill-outs?  Do you know that I have not been to one grill out this entire Summer!  What is up with that?  I am going to a grill out next Thursday.  I really am looking forward to that because it is a new group that I am joining in on.  Everyone else there will know each other and I am the newbie so to speak.  This is a small group that I was "matched up" with through my church.  I have never belonged to a group like this and so I am a wee bit nervous but at the same time I am very excited.  They meet over here on the East-side of Cincinnati by me which is nice being close and twice a month we will all get together.  We were asked that if we wanted to bring something as a side dish for next week to go for it...I cannot cook at all.  I want to bring something but something that won't poison them all...any suggestions?  I'll have to think on this one.  I was told that since it is my first time meeting everyone in the group that I do not need to bring anything but I really want to.

Today is a really busy day for me though, I have to go to the Middletown Arts Center to drop off some sample kits for some upcoming workshops.  One at the MAC and the other at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village.  I have two other appointments today that between the 3 I will deplete all gas that I just put into the tank yesterday...ughhh.

Cheerful Fern Wishes
Here is a card that I worked on last night

This is the inside of the card

I am not entering this card into any challenges, I just wanted to make a card using these fern Dazzles that I had in my stash.  Unfortunately since I created it at night, I also photoed it at night and you cannot really get a good look at how shimmery and gorgeous these ferns are in real life.  They are made out of a  sparkly/glimmering material and are radiant.  The stems on the insides are all gold.
Materials Used:
White card stock as card base of 5" x 6"
Black card stock
Paper from the Teresa Collins paper pack "Sweet Afternoon"
Paper from Fancy Pants paper pack "Baby Mine"
Stamp from Inkadinkado
Ink StazOn Jet Black
Fern Dazzles
Scotch ATG adhesive

I also created another quickie Christmas card

B&W Christmas Card With Green/Red Accents
The sketch which was the inspiration of yesterdays Christmas card that I made was also the design inspiration behind this one

The color in this second picture is truer to the correct color.  I was a bit impatient and took this picture also in the night.  The gold accent around the green & black card stock was Eric's idea.  He and I looked at it knowing it needed something and we both tossed out some ideas and I liked his best.  Even though he didn't come right out and say "Hey Christy, I think some gold Perfect Pearls would do the trick..." he said enough to make me go to the pearls, lol.  I thought it just really brought it all together.
Materials Used
White card stock as card base which is 5" x 7"
Black card stock
More white card stock ran through my Sizzix Texture Boutique using a Cuttlebug embossing folder
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels Eighteen (S4-310)
Recollections Cling Stamp
Memento Cottage Ivy Ink
Perfect Pearls Sunflower Sparkle
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Sizzix Texture Boutique
Red Ribbon
Scotch - ATG adhesive

I hope you like these cards & are inspired to create something today! Thank you as always for taking the time to stop by, take care & have a wonderful day!

New Halloween Cards for Swap

Hello crafty ones!  Happy Hump Day to you all.

Halloween Cards
Today I created some Halloween cards for a swap I am taking part in on SCS.  It calls for a CAS card and I am not one who can make CAS cards so easily.  I find that I want to add more and more.  So I hope that these fall under the definition of a Clean And Simple card.

I made 7 of these using patterned paper from I believe a Recollections paper pack that is from last year.  The scalloped circles are from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Samantha Walker Collection Blossom Tags and Accents (S5-072), and the stamped images are all from Recollections cling stamps that I just purchased last week from Michaels on sale!  I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored using my Copics. (List of Copic colors below pictures).  The black sheet with the white polka dots on it are not part of these cards, it just served as a back drop for me to take the pictures.

Copics used:
Pumpkins - Y38, YR65, YR68, YG13, YG17
Hair - E57, E35, E31
Face - E21, E00, E50
Leggings - R85
Shadow - W1

All the cards measure a standard A2 size and the scallop measures around 4".

I hope you like these cards and I will be back soon with more. Take care and thank you for stopping by!

I love it!!! Take a looksy!

Happy Saturday to you all!  It's National Scrapbooking Day ~ Are you all being crafty today?  I have been busting my butt trying to get this room organized and I am to a point now that I can actually stop for a bit and craft for the rest of the night...ahhh.  Craft where I won't feel guilty for being in a messy unorganized craft room that was totally hindering my crafty mojo.
So I want to show you what a part of the room looks like...Eric and I did venture out again and got 2 more cubes ... well we got three actually.  We were looking for those rounded corner shelves but they are being discontinued at Michael's anyway, but we did find one and they only charged us $2.99 for the floor model they had. Now you can't beat that.  So in the picture I am going to show you, the two cubes on the very top are the ones we picked up last night. I am also showing you some of the drawers inside view like my Cricut drawer.  Funny how I see all these different things on organizing the carts and booklets and all I had to do is use a drawer and but in alphabetical order.  I have an two empty drawers as well that I will use one more for them.  Right now I have I believe 43 booklets but I have 49 carts.  They fit well in here. The last picture here with the two purple/pink storage towers are all my stamps.  Rubber, cling, acrylic, etc.

I also did something today that I never thought I would do.  I bought my first ever Spellbinders item.  No I do not have the Grand Caliber or any of their machines/tools since I just found out that my Sizzix Big Shot can do everything the Caliber does.  I tried it out the other day with some Nestabilities that we are going to demo tomorrow at work.  I wanted to make sure I could do the demo and when I found out how easy it is, I was pleased as punch! Not sure what that expression really means...I mean how pleased can punch really be?   So since today was the last day of me getting to use my 40% off all items including sale items I got this

The embossing pads I bought those on Thursday because I knew I was going to get one.  I wasn't sure which one I wanted.  I just know that I do  not often by punched unless they are border punches.  I mean I have the Cricut which can cut anything I desire. But I was getting tired of not having a circle punch and the "correct" size circle punch would not be easy for me to purchase since I love to shadow a lot of things and layer, buying only  one punch would have been a waste of my money.  So that is why and how I came to choose this circle Nestabilities for the first purchase. I honestly have to say that being able to get 7 dies that can be embossed and cut and also used as stencils is very nice. So tomorrow there is a Make It and Take It at all the Michael's using the Spellbinders and today we actually got the Grand Caliber in.  Soooo I will get to play with that tomorrow too, cannot wait.
Here is a card that I made for the Make It Take It today for the kiddos to use as a demonstration for what they were to make.  I actually  made mine here at home and it turned out to be pretty cute.  The "directions" did not call for the butterfly to be popped out, but I thought it would be neat to do that.  So I did and some of the kids liked that idea and did that too.
Eric and his brother James are out to the movies to see The Avengers.  I was supposed to go but I just wanted to come home and come into this almost neat, organized and roomy craft room and not clean it or "work on it"...noooo I want to "work IN it and CREATE" tonight. That is my goal.
I hope you all have a super weekend.  I do hope you're all having a great NSD...I know I am about to.

Take care and again, thank you for stopping by!
