It's late...or early?!

Hello, my crafty friends! I've missed you, and have some fun new cards I've created recently.

I won't be able to post all I've done because it's nearly 4am and I'm thinking sleep...maybe? ðŸ˜´ðŸ˜³

Side note,  how many people had some snow this week? We got about 1/2- 1 inch, and it was AWESOME! I am that odd duck who truly loves winter and snow ❄. This was my first time commuting to our house in the snow. So that was fun. It really wasn't so bad.

Here are a few of my latest creations; let me know how you like them. Please leave a comment. I'd love to hear from you and your thoughts on these cards. Feedback is essential and very helpful!

Christmas Cards Using Copic Markers & Glaze

Hello and welcome!
Here we are on the eve of Christmas Eve...I still have things to wrap. Are you all ready?  My mom and kiddo's are coming over tomorrow night and we will celebrate together.  I am really looking forward to that!  Then on Christmas Day Eric and I will go over to his uncles and we will spend time there with his family.  I am off work for the next two days so I am really looking forward to that.

I made some cards for my co-workers.  I wanted to share these with you.

You cannot see it really well in the picture but there is Glaze on the red part of the candy cane.  I used Copics to color and a Spica Glitter pen for the box to add a little shimmer

I did more to this card before I gave it to my manager.  I just didn't get a photo of it after the fact.  This was all colored with Copics and a Spica Glitter pen was used to give the picture a snow glistening effect.

The candy cane is glazed and the Spica Glitter pen was used under this little guys feet and the ball on his hat. Used Copics to color

The Season's Greetings is heat embossed, Copics used to color this

Until we meet again!
Merry Christmas and Happy Crafting!!!

What If? Wednesday - Designer Choice Challenge

Hello my crafty friends - How is your week coming along?  Hopefully you said terrific...if not then here is a great challenge that is sure to get your creative juices sprouting.

The What If? Wednesday Designer Choice Challenge from Geri is to create a card with Spring Flowers!
I totally embraced this challenge because I really am ready to start seeing some REAL flowers spout up in my yard.

I even made two cards for this challenge,
here is the first card:

This card measures 5x7 and I used the stamp from Repeat Impressions is called "My Sunshine" (8402-M)
I used only the flower part of the stamp and then tied some bakers twine into some buttons for the centers.

Here is the other card I made for this challenge using the same stamp actually - the whole stamp this time though.

This card is a standard A2 card
I used my Copics to color in the image

I really hope you join in on the challenge with us over at the Repeat Impressions Blog.  You will be entered in to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate for some FANTASTIC items.

Thank you for coming by today.  Please take care and craft your heart out.
See you soon!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 3

Happy Hump-Day to you all!  Welcome to Day Three of the 31 Days of Halloween from Smeared Ink. Today what I created was from a sketch that is from a Repeat Impressions What If? Wednesday challenge. So you may recognize the sketch but the card is new.

Paper is from BoBunny and We R Memory Keepers Spooksville paper pack.  The stamps are all from Recollections & Studio G.  They were stamped with Memento black ink and colored in with some Copic markers. I used a white gel pen to accent the scalloped oval and around the half-circle. All the bats are up on foam adhesive to add some dimension.

I hope you like today's card...Thank you for stopping by, take care and I will see you tomorrow...!!!

New Card Using Spotlighting Technique & Altered Binder Cover

Hello hello hello!!!  It's Thursday evening and my weekend is officially underway.  I have completed a new card using the spotlight technique and this is my first attempt at this type of card. I am pleased that it turned out nicely.

Challenge Card

This card is being entered into a couple different challenges; the first is the original sketch from The House That Stamps Built this is what inspired me to create this type of card. It is Repeat Impressions Sketch A812 The other challenge I am doing is from the Make It Monday blog,

I used Copic Markers V17, V15, V12, RV14, RV17, RV19, YG17, YG13, YG11, YR65 and Y38
The colored image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Cougar Opaque - White paper

Altered Binder Cover
I joined a new group and they handed me out a binder which contains all the necessary paperwork I will be needing over the next several months.  The binder was red, plain and just downright boring.
See what I mean?
The reason there is all that scrap patterned paper in this picture is because originally I was going to create a collage with all that to cover the front, but I decided on something else.
I took a piece of heavy card stock and stamped repeatedly with a swirly background stamp, I also used (to many to list) my Copics again on coloring in another stamped image.
I cut up the colored images into lines of three and adhered them to the stamped card stock

Here is the front:

Here is the back, side and whole thing together opened up

I just wanted to spruce it up a bit and I think I am happy with how this turned out also!  So all in all it's been a good crafty day for me!

Thanks for stopping by, take care & see you soon!

New Halloween Cards for Swap

Hello crafty ones!  Happy Hump Day to you all.

Halloween Cards
Today I created some Halloween cards for a swap I am taking part in on SCS.  It calls for a CAS card and I am not one who can make CAS cards so easily.  I find that I want to add more and more.  So I hope that these fall under the definition of a Clean And Simple card.

I made 7 of these using patterned paper from I believe a Recollections paper pack that is from last year.  The scalloped circles are from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Samantha Walker Collection Blossom Tags and Accents (S5-072), and the stamped images are all from Recollections cling stamps that I just purchased last week from Michaels on sale!  I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored using my Copics. (List of Copic colors below pictures).  The black sheet with the white polka dots on it are not part of these cards, it just served as a back drop for me to take the pictures.

Copics used:
Pumpkins - Y38, YR65, YR68, YG13, YG17
Hair - E57, E35, E31
Face - E21, E00, E50
Leggings - R85
Shadow - W1

All the cards measure a standard A2 size and the scallop measures around 4".

I hope you like these cards and I will be back soon with more. Take care and thank you for stopping by!

Tags I made for a swap using Cricut cartridge Paper Lace

Good morning everyone!  It's early...but then again I have been up for the whole night.  I wanted to show you what I was working on.
As you may have seen the link on my blog for the Bakers Twine swap going on, well I wanted to make something that I could wrap the twine on.  Since I am doing two colors;
 Pink Sorbet & Lemondrop:
I have more people to send to...eighteen to be exact!  Eeek!
So here is what I did.  Since I thought that the card for my friends B-day turned out well, I decided to do something similar for the tags.  I used my Cricut Expression 2 with the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and the Paper Lace cartridge.
These were colored with  my Copic markers.  I am still learning with the markers but it's getting better.  I am glad that I kept them and didn't sell like I wanted to.

So the next thing I have to do is cut 18 individual pieces of twine at 25 yards a piece, and then wrap each of these tags.  Shouldn't be to hard.

Well I hope you liked these tags.  I want to thank you again for stopping by!  Have a great day and please try to stay cool...I think it's going to be another hot one.

Something Very Wonderful Happened Last Night!

First of all Good Morning to you all!  Hope that you had a restful night.  You know me, I've been up since yesterday.  Am use to that though.  I cleaned my craft room sooooo thoroughly last night and now I am going to be very anal about messing it up again, LoL!

But let me tell you about this wonderful thing that happened last night.  As you may have seen the post that I want to sell my Copic markers due to the fact that I am pretty much getting frustrated with not "getting it".  Now it's not that I gave up just like that when I first had a mistake. No, this has been going on for a while.  I am even in a class online.  I am in fact in the intermediate class, if you can believe that! So I left a message on the board of where I am taking these Copic classes to see if by chance someone there would be interested in purchasing them.

I was not expecting this, but the wonderful woman who is the instructor of the class contacted me personally and said that she would help me out personally and we even talked on the phone last night!!!  Now tell me how many times does that happen?  To me?  Not often.  To have someone go out of their way to personally help me out with something that I am truly struggling with was just the sweetest thing and it really made me feel good.

So needless to say, I have changed my mind about selling the Copics and I am going to give it another try.  I am my own worst critic, I have told you all that before I know I have because it is SOOOO true.  Well, I am going to try and change that...no, wait.  I WILL change that.  I just found a quote that I really like and I would like to share it with you.

"There are no shortcuts to any place worth going"
~Beverly Sills~

This just says to me to work hard at what I want to accomplish because nothing is ever handed to you no matter what it is.  You have to work hard at it, practice it, and as Lisa said to me last night; 'if you have to get up and leave your project for a day or two and then come back to it, that's ok'.  I had to paraphrase that b/c I cannot remember verbatim what she said, but I hope you got the drift of what she was saying.

I am in a really great mood today.  I cannot say if it is because of what occurred last night or if I am just happy.  Let's say both!

I would like to show you two cards that I made for my mom.  She had asked me to create 2 get well cards for her.  One was for a woman who had broke her leg.  She wanted it somewhat funny and this is what I came up with...

This first one was for a gentleman and this is obviously the front
This is the inside of the above card

This next card is for the woman with the broken leg
the picture for some reason no matter how many times and ways I took it the front did not turn out how I really like it, but I still hope you can get the general idea.

And here is the inside of the card

I hope you like!
Well this is it for me, I have quite a busy day ahead of me.  I need to create create create!!!

Please have a wonderful day! And thank you for stopping by!
