31 Days of Halloween - Day 7 ***Smell My Feet***

Hello everyone...hope you're enjoying your Sunday.  I know I am having a great day so far.  Well you could say a great night & day as I haven't been to sleep yet.

Since my birthday is tomorrow and my sister-in-law's birthday is on the 14th we are all going over to my mom's to celebrate them both.  Kristin wasn't able to join us today because she is working a double at work, so she came over last night.  She spent the night and of course laughter was abundant!!!  I have had some hair dye here for a few months of a different color than my natural color of dark brown/black and it got her and I thinking that around 2:30 - 3:00 AM that we should both do our hair...lol.  So since her hair is a little bit lighter than mine hers turned out great...not that mine didn't turn out you just cannot see it as much as you can hers.

As you can see we both kind of picked the same Auburn-ish color but hers turned out a heck of a lot more auburn and she loves it!  I think she is gorgeous...but I may be biased here.

Now onto day 7 of the 31 Days of Halloween!!!

I just got this stamp from Stamp Your Art Out a couple of days ago and I fell in love with it!  I am sad the reason that I bought it was because they are closing their doors after 21 years of business...very sad.  

I wanted to use this stamp to make a non-traditionally colored card.  Here is what I came up with...

The sentiment was created on my computer using my "Artistik" font at size 14 and the witch's feet were colored in using copics.  I have decided that I am going to give this card away today to my sons girlfriend Abby's family.  The reason is because the sentiment fits with something that was so special they did for us this past week.  Abby text me around 10 o'clock one night and said they had received some  extra items (food) from somewhere and asked if we would like anything.  So I said ok and here around 11 o'clock that same night Abby and her mom came over with an entire cooler packed with TONS of food!  I felt...we all felt so blessed by this.  So I thought this would be a cute way to thank them for their over abundant generosity and caring hearts.  I know a small gesture compared to what they did for us, but it's a start.

Kristin's Senior Prom and Class

Hi my crafty friends!  I have some pictures to show you from Kristin's prom that was last Saturday.  She was radiant and just beaming with beauty!  I finally got to meet her boyfriend Ben which was long overdue.  She and 28-30 of her closest friends met over at one of her best friends {Katie} house. Here are a few pictures from the evening.  I swear it was like a red carpet event...

We couldn't fit everyone in any of the pictures there were so many kids there.  I was not exaggerating when I said 28-30 of her friends...I have many many more pictures but I won't post them all here.   She looked so lovely in her blue dress.  The 2 girls in the pictures with her above are Katie {yellow dress} and Sam {grey dress} which are her two best friends.  This was her Senior prom and I am so happy that I was able to be there to take pictures of her and her friends.   

Monday I had the first of three classes at the retirement home and this was the sign that was up when I got there leading to the classroom.  It was such a pleasant group of women and we all had a great time!  They really loved that I had card kits for them.  I cannot wait until next Monday for the next class!

The Cincinnati Art Museum

Hello my friends!  I wanted to share with you my trip to the Cincinnati Art Museum that Kristin and I went to on Sunday.  First of all the day itself couldn't have been better.  The weather was perfect and the sun was shining so bright.  Very good day for an outing I thought.  So I picked Kristin up around 11:30 and we immediately headed down to Eden Park where the Art Museum is located.  The drive through Eden Park itself was beautiful and a treat to see.  I rarely get to this part of town so it is sweet when I see it on a good day.  I guess the best part of the trip to and from was that I didn't get lost or turned around or anything!  

This was Kristin's first time going to the museum and I was thinking to myself when I suggested it to her, how can she not have gone once!  I mean she does art, she's going to be attending The Cincinnati Art Institute come July. She loved it all!  She soaked it all in and read about everything we saw.  She was also explaining different types of art to dear old mom who knows squat about certain things relating to painting. So I learned a lot today from her, which is nice to have happen once in a while.

I was most impressed when she would see some sculptures and paintings and just off the top of her head before looking who the artist was would be correct in the name of the art piece and the artist.  Can you tell I am a proud momma! 

So I took some pictures of some things that I liked.  They are currently having exhibits on Monet and Picasso which meant we could not take any pictures of their works.  Which was a shame b/c I really like Picasso. 

But here are the photos that I took with my cell phone.  Some of my pictures disappeared off my phone however, but I think what I did was not wait long enough before I press a certain button on it and in doing that I lost pictures before they had a chance to save automatically.  So the items that I will show you I haven't a clue as to who the artist is, the date, the name of the art work.  If you recognize any feel free to fill me in on who/what/etc.

I hope you like these few pictures I've shared with you.  I will have more as Kristin took a ton and hopefully hers were not lost as a lot of mine were.

Teaching at Michaels is still AWESOME!  I have two classes tomorrow back to back.  I've got excellent students and they have so much enthusiasm that teaching them is shear joy to me!  

Something else happened that is good news...I am going to teach a short course at a retirement community starting in May.  So I have been working at getting some things done so that I can tell the Middletown Art Center what the supplies, description, etc. will all be.
