Update and of course my latest creations!

Good morning friends!  I know I know...I haven't been very visible the last couple weeks and for that
I apologize...{Bridget} ~Smile~.
Things here have been rather hectic to put it mildly.  As you read in the last few posts, Kevin my son has moved in with Eric and I.  He has since started UC {University of Cincinnati} and he goes everyday + working both Saturday and Sunday.  He still needs rides due to him not having license yet.  He does drive my car a lot here lately with me in it of course.  And he is getting better every second!  I am so proud of my son for all he is doing now.  So we have already told the necessary people that we need a 3 bedroom and we will be most likely moving the first of December.  I will be honest here, I do detest the very thought of climbing up and down my 3 flights of stairs to move but I cannot wait to get a new place.  I mean I already know what they look like and all that, but it's the thought of getting a brand new place with Eric and Kevin together.  I'm corny I know, but I guess I am sentimental about things like this and big changes.

I also wanted to share with you some other great news...I already told you that I am going to be selling my cards in an actual store beginning in October...well, I am also going to be selling cards in yet another store in Mansfield, Ohio!!!  I have been getting cards ready to send out and I should have them ready to go by tomorrow!!!  The name of this store in Mansfield is called "Mid-Ohio Made".  Why not check them out!
One other thing happen to me last week...I do not have specific details that I can share with you on this but I can tell you that I was asked to help implement and instruct a scrapbooking class as well as a rubber stamping workshop and card class!!!!  I am still on cloud 9 from this meeting I had last Wednesday.  I promise that I will tell you more about this in greater detail when I know the full details!
So now can you see that I have been a busy woman lately?  I also have the Lake Waynoka Craft Fair that I have been getting ready for as well.  That show is on October 8, from 9-4 in Sardinia, Ohio.  I am very excited to have my crafts there because I here it is a huge success every year!  So if you are near-by, why not come and check out the show!  Also Lake Waynoka is a beautiful place to just go and see and why not do it on a day with crafts and free admission & parking!?!

Well my friends, I am going to close this for now.  I needed to catch up with you and explain my absence.  I will leave you with some pics of the latest cards that I have created for these various events!
Enjoy!

 B is for BIRTHDAY!

Take care everyone!  Thank you again for stopping by, that means so much to me that you do!

Card #2 for the Summer Card Camp 2011

Good afternoon everyone!  Hope your day is as sunny outside as mine is.
The only bad thing about that though is that inside here I am either freezing or hot.  There seems to be no pleasing Christy in the A/C department.  I'm just like this in the Winter though so I really don't understand why I am like this.  I know I cannot tolerate heat or even just being stuffy inside.

Eric and I went through a ton of clothes last night and it is just a never ending battle with our clothes.  At least my clothes just out of no where double and triple. One might think this is a great thing, but not when you have to wash it all and fold it {WHICH I DETEST FOLDING IT}.  Soooo anyway, we got all our winter and the "these don't fit me anymore" clothes out of the drawers and closets and stored away.

OK, so about this card I made today.  Jennifer McGuire showed us how to make a card using a transparency.  This is something that I have always wanted to know how to do.  Well the card I ended up using vellum on it instead.  Every ink I used it seemed wanted to smear, not want to dry quick enough, not dark enough, blah blah blah.  So I switched it from a "Get Well" card to a "Just Because" card.  Actually IDK what type of card you would classify this in.  You tell me.
Here is the card front
Inside the card I also have the same orange
paper with the same butterflies stamped on it
using Vera Mark ink

Here is a bit of a close up of the sides
I used a Fiskars border punch and then the sky blue
is Stickles

This is the close-up of the vellum window with
the quote from Emily Dickenson.
Surrounding it are more Stickles.

Just another full photo of the front

The one thing I was worried about was cutting the window in the correct place.  Aaaaaand, since I really do not have Sizzix dies that cut out these for me {I mainly use it to emboss}, I used my new Cricut 2 & Gypsy with the Storybook cartridge.  You wanna know something really cool?  It worked on the first try!  It cut perfectly centered.  I love being able to see the mat before I cut.  Both the newest Cricut does that as well as the Gypsy which makes crafting even more fun...if that's even a possibility?

Well I must end for now...If you didn't get a chance to see my WEEK 1 DAY 1 card just scroll down or click on this LINKY LINK RIGHT HERE and you will go right to it.
Thank you so much for stopping by again, I love having company!
Take Care Everyone!!!

Slipped on the ice outside my apartment...DOLT!

Hello everyone!  As my countdown here on my blogs reads, we don't have much time until the big day is here!  I lost half of my time last week in my preparations for lots of things bu falling on o my back on a sheet of ice while I was getting the mail.  Now I knew the ice was there, I had gone over it carefully to get to the mailbox {this was btw the only route I could take to get there}, but for some reason nature didn't like me or it needed a good laugh.  I am sure that anyone who caught it as brief and quick as it was, also got a good laugh.  Although I was able to get up rather quickly {mainly b/c I didnt want anyone else to catch me there}, by the time I got up to my 3rd level apt, i was already starting to feel the back pain creeping in.  It started with sharp neck pain all across the top part of my back and shoulders, then moved its way to the lower back and I was pretty much bed-ridden til Sat.  Was not a fun  time.

I wanted to share with you some of the Easel Cards that I had made for everyone this year for Christmas, I fear that I won't get the, to everyone on time.  But rest assured you ARE getting one if you know me. :)
