How to make a Woven Heart & Easel Card...

I wanted to share with you a card that I made along with a tutorial.

It is a two-part card, first part is a woven heart card.  Second part is making an easel card for the heart to be
placed onto. So let's get started.

First let's get all our supplies together:

Supplies for the woven heart are:
1) 2 different colored pieces of card stock 3 x 5
2) 2 pairs of scissors 1-decorative & 1 regular
3) Piece of card stock measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 {we will be attaching the completed heart to this}
4) Ruler
5) Adhesive of your choice
6) Anything you would like to embellish your completed heart with

STEP ONE) Take decorative scissors and on both pieces of 3 x 5 card stock, cut a "hump" onto them; round them out. Do this on the 5' side.

STEP TWO) Use ruler and regular scissors on opposite end of decorative cut, and cut 3 slits 3/4" apart from on another and make cuts approximately 3" long.

STEP THREE) Now Begin weaving both pieces together; start weaving inside and working your way out.

STEP FOUR) Continue to weave until all strips are intertwined with one another and use small amount of adhesive of your choice on each strip on ends to ensure they don't rip or tear at another time.

STEP FIVE) Take your heart and attach it to the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of card stock you have chosen, then decorate however you want

Now we are going to start on the Easel Card

Supplies Needed for this Easel Card are:
1) Coordinating piece of card stock 4 1/2 x 11
2) Piece of coordinating card stock for matting  2 1/2 x 3 3/4
3) Piece of coordinating patterned paper for on top of matting 2 1/4 x 3 1/2
4) Your woven heart
5) Adhesive of your choice
6) Pop dots
7) Letter stickers

STEP ONE) Score & fold 4 1/4 x 11 at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2

STEP TWO) Take the 2 3/4 fold and fold inward; this is where your heart will be attached

STEP THREE) Take your two pieces of remaining card stock and adhere to one another then using pop dots; place onto the long end of the scored paper

STEP FOUR) Using your letter stickers, write out sentiment onto this card stock

I hope you like this card and will try it out on your own as well!  Thanks for stopping by!
And as always; Have a GREAT day!!!
