I went to the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival!!!

Wednesday July 21st we went to the Mayhem Festival. Here are some pictures that I took.
Rob Zombie walked RIGHT in front of me and it was great!  He looked good! :)  Tami got his autograph as well.

Rain pelted us all day though but it didnt matter to us, we still had a great time even though we were soaked literally head to toe.

Today I attended Lake Waynoka Day in Sardinia, Ohio.  I had a table there displaying my cards & scrapbook.  While I was there to sell cards, my main intention was to get the word out about who I am and what it is that I love to do.  I met some very nice people who one of them is on the Lake Waynoka committee (I believe this is what she said), and she took my business card and invited me to their big craft show in Oct.  Very excited about this because she said Lake Waynoka advertises a lot for this event.  Over 400 people usually come to the craft show I was also told by her!!! Wow!  So I will be keeping you up to date on this newly added event!

Cards on coming to me for the two charities from the wonderful ladies of the PBS_Swappers.  I will be shipping out the cards to Operation Write Home and Amy's Angels in about 3 weeks.  I'm so happy to be a part of this!  This is all working out perfect.

I just wanted to write a little bit and let you know how today went at the craft show.  More later!

Decided On Theme For My First ATC's

I was looking all over the Internet at ideas and themes for ATC's, and there ARE MANY!  I thought I would like to do something sort of easy since this is my first attempt at making ATC's.  Colors!  Of course, why hadn't I thought of that a couple weeks ago?!
So I had color in my head but how was I going to incorporate that it into a real theme. Well, I was looking around for something to store my the blank ATC cards I have and when I came to this little metal box I've had for years, I knew I had found a theme because inside was a color chart for Chakras!
~My Little Stars & Moon Tin~
~The Colour Energy Chart I Found Inside~

Google images was a lifesaver for this project in the works, because I came across the symbols for each color!  How perfect!
~My Work In Progress Red Chakra #1~
~My Work In Progress Red Chakra #2~

What I am doing to create at least the red chakra is taking vellum and my handy light box  to trace the symbol onto the vellum, then I used red Stickles to fill in the areas needed.  The vellum will then be cut out and placed on the card as will the rest of what I decide to do with it, when I have completed it to my liking.
I am hardly anywhere near finished with this ATC obviously but I will post my progress as I continue with this project.

Thank you for taking a look today, more to follow soon.

A Photo A Day ~This is my own personal Challenge~

One thing that I have been really wanting to do is A Photo A Day Scrapbook.  So here goes nothing, right?  I have everything that I need, including "A Photo A Day" stamp set.  I am going to not just take pics of myself, but of EVERYTHING.  My apartment, my kitties, the scenic view from my balcony of they night/day sky.  I want this to be something that I can look back onto and see how things and I have changed in a year from now.  I will be posting pictures of this as it progresses. Probably once a week, or everyday. I never know from day to day what I will be working on.
So I want to welcome you into this little venture of mine and let me know what you think.  Have you ever created a photo a day journal?  If so, any tips?

Advice needed on ATC's, plus more information on new charity we are joining forces with, and more cards of course!

I bet you're wondering "what's with all the congratulation cards?", well let me tell you. The yahoo group I belong to is having a card swap and this particular swap calls for a congratulation card. So that is why I have been posting so many new "Congrats" and "Congratulations" cards. I have had a blast making them. I cannot wait to see what the other's in the group send out. I am sure they are gorgeous :)

The other cards are for general and hopefully I will be able to sell some at next weekend's event in Sardinia, Ohio.

I am going to also start working on more Christmas cards for a little bit as well as cards "for him" so that I can get them ready to send out to Dixie who is part of the organization "Operation Write Home".

The PBS_Swappers {the yahoo group I belong to} has also join in helping out one more organization; "Cards by Amy's Angels". There is a link to their website here on my blog. This organization sends out handmade greetings to cancer patients as well as their care-takers all over the world. So you will also be seeing a lot more "thinking of you" and "get well" cards posted here as well as I get them ready to send to my contact there.

I am so happy to now be a part of these two great charities. Doing for others, no matter how small is really a great feeling I'm learning. I am also going to start working on something new myself that I have never tried before. ATC's {Artist Trading Cards}. I have browsed the web and found a lot of good articles out there on the subject, but I will admit, I am nervous about trying them. Oh I'm going to do it, that's not the problem, I just still would like some advice on how to really go about making them. Some advice for beginners from anyone of you would be GREATLY appreciated! :) I've got the supplies, that being the blank cards themselves. Other than that, I'm at a loss. So HELP!

Why am I wanting to do this all of the sudden? Well what honestly prompted me was that the PBS_Swappers are having an ATC swap soon and I really want to take part. The other reason is because I do not want to limit myself to JUST greeting cards & scrapbooking. I want to continually learn and be challenged. I have seen some ATC's and WoW, I certainly have my work cut out for me. What I am really struggling with is the topic to create about. I have so many idea's running through my head and still nothing sticks for very long before I think "Yea I could do that theme instead". So if you have some theme ideas for me that would be excellent!

Smiles!

New Responsibilities...I can do it!

I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do. ~Edward Everett Hale~
I have joined a group on yahoo and volunteered to head up the Charity portion of the group and already I am lovin' it! And that just happened today! I have already found and been in contact with an organization called Operation Write Home. It is where you send the troops handmade cards that they can send back home to their loved ones. So I'm really excited about starting on that!
Also I have recently been asked to make 30 Baby Shower invitations, so I am in process of getting those designed and ready to make. I'm in my crazy-hectic phase right now because I #1 Want to deliver the invites on time #2 Want the client to love them #3 Making more cards for the Lake Waynoka days that will be July 17th. So as you can see I am a busy bee now-a-days. I am in no way complaining here, I am really enjoying all the work, just letting you all know what's is going on here with me.
More later ~cards now~ hehe!

WoW, WhaT aWeeK! {And it's only midnight the start of Tuesday}

I have been super busy here lately. Grinding out the cards left & right! Go ME! WoOt! {LoL} Yea, so I really don't have much time other than to really post the pics of the cards at the moment. I'm sorry but I will write more later.
This picture here is my pink Slice apron that I actually won for a scrapbook challenge and I am sooo glad I did too. I use it EVERY time I craft. This pic was taken yesterday July 5th and as you can see the long hair is a wee bit haggered looking, but hey, I was having fun, I don't care :)
The picture directly below me in my apron is just a part of my newly organize craft area. Yes I said area, I do not have a room :( I know sad isn't it. However, I love this shelving unit and the totes are all labled and I actually know where most of my things are and what's more important than that, I actually know what I have now! I mean I tell you I have found so many things that I said "I didn't know I had one of these or those or this or that". So yea it's great. I owe it all to Eric, he did all this, from the idea to the purchasing to assembling to buying the totes to just being a great supportive man :) These are most of the cards that I have completed from Sunday night July 4th thru the night into July 5th: Please let me know what you think :) More tomorrow {Card and info}. Right now I have to make more cards!

I'm Back With More

Tada! I'm back!!! {again} Yesterday; June 27, 2010 my family got together to celebrate my brother David's 41st birthday. It was a perfect evening and a lot of laughs and fun was had by all. Last night was also the first time Eric met my brother, Lisa (sister-in-law), and nephew Zack. They all got along great and everyone seemed to just click, which is what I was hoping for. Zack my nephew is a character and is just so cute! I was making him giggle everytime I put on my reading glasses {perhaps I REALLY DO look goofy in them} Hehe!
This picture was taken by my mom who had just said something that just shocked and tickled me to no end which explains the reaction on my face. I really like the picture though because it is natural and genuine smiles from Eric & myself. This creative picture was designed by Eric. He came up with the idea for it and I just thought it so silly that I had to post. I love it!
So today I have been busy at work again making more cards. I only did two today because I have to {still} organize more things in my craft area. I am ALMOST completely finished with it, just have to organize a few drawers and then I'll be all done...hopefully! {yeah right} I just keep getting more & more items that I have to put SOMEWHERE~ As of right now, everything has a place to call it's home. I mean I even have my paper organized by color which let me tell you was not an easy task when dealing with tons of patterned paper. But just a few drawers that hold my embellishments which is actually 6 drawers {2 storage units w/ 3 drawers each}. I have so many embellishments but they are my weakness, I'll admit to that.
This card is entitled You & Me Wired Heart Card:

This card is entitles Thoughtfulness Flower Card:
I hope you enjoy what I have done & I will try to be back tomorrow with more!
Smiles!

I wanted to share with you...

This is my new logo for "Christine's Handmade Creations", what do you think? I personally love it! Eric created it for me and did a superb job on it.
You'll notice that it is a ".net" rather than ".com" as was the old website. This website is not fully functional as of right now, but I am in the building process. I do hope that you will visit it when it is up and running which I will let you know A.S.A.P.!
In the meantime, I have been hard at work creating new cards and working on an "About Me" booklet that is of the fill-in-the-blank nature. This booklet is the first of many that I intend to create. I will supply photo's of what I have completed so far of the booklet soon. I promise!

As for the cards, I have learned a new technique that I had been reluctant to try. I found out however that I am falling in love with it. It is "Iris Folding" and below are a two cards that were created using this technique.

The first card shown just happens to be the first card I made "Thank You" card:

Second card is a Birthday card that I made for my brother David:

This is a Get Well card which is made from glittered textured patterned paper (a little hard to tell from the photo ~sorry about that~):
This was made for Father's Day and Eric in turn gave to his dad and it was well liked by all: I have been hard at work with Eric's continuous help in organizing all my supplies and planning my work for creating original and beautiful cards for all. I want to thank those who have been patient with me as well as supportive while I have been in this stage of the business. I have found a new love in my life (yes Eric is the my love) but as far as work, I truly enjoy this and love to wake up everyday and begin a new project. To see the end result brings such satisfaction to me that words cannot truly express how I feel.
So please stop by often as I will be posting weekly (if not daily) progress of what is going on with CHC (Christine's Handmade Creations).

Where have I been?!

I feel like I have been so busy lately, but not busy with work or things like that; just busy with life. I have been so happy here lately. My daughter Kristin is on cloud nine ~ she has a new boyfriend; Kevin made a new PR (personal record) in his track time last night! My kiddo's are m world and when they are happy and doing well in the things they love, I just start to smile so bright and my heart pounds stronger for them.I have been seeing someone now since April 7th and I have been talking to him since December of 2009. We finally met on the 7th and ever since then, life has been grand for me in the love life department. His name is Eric and he's 31...yea I know a younger man, LoL! I have not felt this way in a long time ~ ever if you will. Yeah I know there was Jeff back last year, but this is completely different. As I spose all relationships are. Eric is so funny, and full of life & ideas that I just feel like a better person knowing him. He has taken me camping twice so far out in Sardinia, Ohio where his camper is located. I know I have not been much of an outdoorsy type person, but this is so different, its out in the middle of Lake Waynoka and at night the stars are so bright and beautiful that one can't help but to fall in love with the view! I will try to get some pictures to share next time we go.

Here is a pic of my sweetie Eric, isn't he a cutie-pie?!

Well Being that it's May 1st it's National Scrapbooking Day!!! WOoT! I am going to throw myself into some crafty things today. I am going to work on some cards as well. I need to get back on track with that. I've been slacking!
